Chef Eduard Frauneder
Chef Eduard Frauneder’s culinary journey began at a young age, where he developed his passion for food while working alongside his father in the family’s bakeries and pastry shops in Vienna. He went on to graduate from the Vienna Culinary Institute’s College of Hospitality and Tourism, where he gained a comprehensive education in culinary arts and restaurant management.
Early in his career, Chef Eduard Frauneder gained valuable experience within diplomatic circles, building a reputation among foreign dignitaries and ambassadors worldwide. His first major venture, Bistro Andromeda, served the United Nations headquarters in Vienna, leading to his appointment as executive chef for the Austrian ambassador to the United Kingdom. In 2001, he took on the operation of the Private Delegates Dining Room at the German Mission to the United Nations in New York City, a role he continues to fulfill.
Chef Eduard Frauneder’s reputation for fine cuisine has made him a sought-after chef for prominent businesses, public figures, and international dignitaries. To meet demand, he launched his first catering service, extending his culinary offerings across the New York Metro area.
Building on his success, Chef Eduard Frauneder later opened Seäsonal Restaurant and Wine Bar, which redefined contemporary Austrian cuisine. Seäsonal earned a Michelin Star and received 25 food points from Zagat from 2010 to 2012, as well as a spot on New York Magazine’s “Best New Restaurants” list in 2010.
With a constant flow of new ideas inspired by Austria’s rich history and cuisine, Chef Eduard Frauneder introduced a series of unique restaurants and bars, further cementing his influence across the city’s culinary scene.
Today, Chef Eduard Frauneder owns some of New York City’s most popular and trendsetting restaurants and bars, delivering premier catering services to individuals, businesses, and events of all scales. Always pushing the boundaries of culinary creativity, he continues to captivate and delight guests from around the globe with his innovative flavors and refined hospitality.
